How it Works
The roof Scanner is a battery powered, electronic instrument that generates a low frequency electronic signal.

The signal is transmitted into the Roofing Material under test via one of two electrodes incorporated in the rubber electrode mat, which is draped on the underside of the instrument.

The other electrode receives the signal that is transmitted through the material under test.

The strength of this received signal varies with the amount of moisture in the material under test.

By moving the unit across a roof’s surface in a regular pattern, any areas that contain moisture can be readily identified.

When an area of high moisture is found a probe type moisture meter is inserted into the roof build up and a % reading can be got, once the probe is removed the two small holes can be repaired.

As all roofs contain a certain amount of moisture a bench mark reading will have to be taken, to obtain this reading the roof scanner and the moisture probe have to be used on what is deemed to be the driest part of the roof, this % reading is then used as the bench mark for the roof under test.
